Finding High Desert Ranch:

Marker 28.3 Highway 247 is the closet point
Flights into Albuquerque or Roswell are available daily


From Corona, New Mexico, go east on Hwy. 247 for 28.3 miles, mile markers start at 0 at Corona. Just past the 28 mile marker, turn left though cattle guard, there is a sign on the north side of the highway that says High Desert Ranch, go north on dirt road through 2 more cattle guards. Go to next cattle guard, and turn left through it, there is a smaller sign on the fence with High Desert Ranch on it on your right. Go west to next cattle guard, turn right through it, head north past next cattle guard, continue to gate. Proceed north through opened gate to ranch headquarters on your left.


From Hwy. 285 between Vaughn and Roswell, New Mexico, take Hwy. 247, west for 20 miles, mile markers will start at 48. Go past mile marker 29, for .7 of a mile, turn right through cattle guard, there is a sign on the north side of the highway that says High Desert Ranch, go north on dirt road through 2 more cattle guards. Go to next cattle guard, and turn left through it, there is a smaller sign on the fence with High Desert Ranch on it on your right. Go west to next cattle guard, turn right through it, head north past next cattle guard, continue to gate. Proceed north through opened gate to ranch headquarters on your left.


Airstrip description:

High Desert Ranch does have a private caliche airstrip that hunters can fly in on private planes. This private airstrip is 5,280 feet long and 90 feet wide. There are no hangars or covers available to store aircraft; however tie-downs will be available for those who choose to leave their planes during the hunt. The location of the HDR runway is: 34.10 degrees N and 105.12 degrees W.
